Welcome to the Blog !!
Life is so full of goodness! We need only to look up and look around to realize how we’ve been blessed. A beautiful orange-pink sunset to end a day. The sound of waves crashing onto a white shore. The hum of a bee. The smell of cookies baking in the oven. The sound of a child’s joy. The ability to reason and think logically. People to love and make memories with. Material things, such as cars and homes, that we are absolutely undeserving of. Life is truly beautiful and valuable!
But, we would be lying to ourselves if we denied or ignored the hardness that this life also affords. In fact, I would even say that many times, life is characterized by hardship. God even tells us Christians to expect trials and tribulation in life (John 16:33, James 1:2).
Often, I have felt so overwhelmed by the hardness of life that I have forgotten about its goodness. I have recently learned, however, that the two can coexist. God did not simply promise trials—He also promised peace in the middle of the trials! While it seems contradictory, it is a truth that, when grasped, can change the way you and I walk through valleys completely!
My desire with this blog is to share my personal journey through disappointment in hopes that it will encourage my sisters and brothers in Christ to also “make it a well” (as Psalm 84:6 says… I’ll unpack this symbolism in future blogs). Our trials can either be an avenue of depression or of hope—we choose! I also desire to be as real and vulnerable as possible through this blog while confronting my own feelings and thoughts. My prayer is that it will encourage you to do the same, but then also rest in the grace/strength/help God gives us through our hardships and trials.
This is “From Strength to Strength: finding wells of grace in a valley of tears”

ReplyDeleteSo good! Other Scriptures that came to my mind are Psalm 23 (where we're reminded that God is with us even through the valley of the shadow of death) and Psalm 91 where we're told He will be with us in trouble. And there are so many more. Looking forward to all that you will share here!!
